Welcome to Scotch Addict

Hi, my name is Jim and I’m a scotch addict. About a year ago, my friends introduced me to the delight that is single malt scotches and since then I haven’t been able to get enough. No other drink on the planet is as varied as scotch, no other drink on the planet is as subtle in its flavors and deep in its complexity, and no other drink on the planet can you drink for years and still learn something about. Whiskey, in all its forms, is a complex animal that hundreds of books have been written about and as a novice to the drink, I hope to learn as much as I can, as quickly as I can, and I hope you can join me on this wonderful journey.

I’m not an expert on scotch, I’m just a regular guy trying to understand a most complex drink.

You can join along by subscribing to the Scotch Addict RSS feed by clicking on the orange button to the right or via email. Please join me!

  1. Hey Jim! Found your blog and I think it’s a great topic to cover! I’m a big fan of Scotch myself and just got a very nice 10yo Laphroaig from my best friend, so I’m about to crack into a new tasting on that one.

I would REALLY like to subscribe to your feed, but dude — it’s broken. It only shows your “about” page and nothing else. I run my own blog and am a programmer by trade, so let me know if I can help you get it working.

At any rate, nice blog and I look forward to reading you more often!

Hi Nathan, pleasure “meeting” you! Scotch is such an intricate drink, it’s so much fun to rediscover. I’m a big fan of Laphroaig myself, we had two bottles (one regular and one that was matured in quarter casks) at our last tasting. I’m always happy to get a heavy dose of the peat out of Laphroaig.

Thanks for the note, I’ll take a look at it and figure out what’s going on. I might have setup the Feedburner incorrectly, thanks for the offer of help!
